Celebrate Your Day

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a card I created recently using a Hero Arts stencil and Glitter Paste. I used three different colors of blue and green glitter paste to add color to the card.

I love the way this turned out, and I didn't want to cover the design up with sentiments etc, so I kept it very simple adding just a smallish sentiment to the lower front of the card.

For the inside of the card I added a white panel. Die cut the "birthday" sentiment from a Simon Says Stamp sentiment die and stamped the "wishes". I also added another flower trimmed from another panel I stencilled with glitter paste.

Stamps: Sentimental - Avery Elle; Happy Happy Happy - Lawn Fawn
Paper: White; Black; Blue; Vellum
Dies: Dashing Rectangles - Elizabeth Craft Designs; Sentimental - Avery Elle; Happy Birthday - Simon Says Stamp
Other: Hero Arts Spiral Petals Stencil; Viva Décor Light Blue Metallic 3D Stamp Paint; Viva Décor Lime Green Metallic 3D Stamp Paint; Bo Bunny Wasabi Glitter Paste

We Can't Always Choose The Music

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Karen Aicken our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Being the third Saturday of the month it is time for a sketch challenge.

For my card today I have used a stamp set I received as a freebie in a magazine, Creative Stamping Issue 52. This set was designed by Sheena Douglas and called The Music & Dance Collection. This is a stamp set I have been watching out for for a little while.

For the background of my card I used the emboss resist technique, stamping the music border onto white cardstock using Versamark ink and embossing using white embossing powder. Distress Oxide inks were then applied over the embossed images.

I added one of the sentiments from the stamp set to the fishtail layer. For the semi circle panel on the right hand side, I stamped the large circular music note stamp onto white card and embossed using white embossing powder and then die cut using circle dies.

Finally I stamped the dancers silhouette image onto a rectangle panel.

As I like to decorate the inside of my cards, I created two more background panels using the same stamps/technique as the front.

I used Karen Burniston's Spinner Square Pop-up Card die set to create the pop-up on the inside of the card. I added the dancing couple shoes to the pop-up panel and a sentiment to the spinner part of the card.

Finally I added a blank label to the base of the card so that a hand written greeting can be added.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

But First Coffee

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing another coffee themed card using some Honey Bee Stamps coffee stamp sets.

I created a block card using the Spellbinders Baby Steps Block Card die set I received at Christmas. This certainly makes it much easier to make this style of card.

I used the speech bubble from Karen Burniston's Spinner Square Pop-up Card on the top left hand square.

Here is a look at the back of my block card. I added another image from the Honey Bee Stamps Coffee Break Stamp set. I also added another sentiment using the Perfect Blend Stamp & die set.

Here is another view of my card taken at an angle, so you can see how the card looks. On the squares at the top of the Block Card I added some doughnuts and coffee beans.

And of course it folds flat so you can pop it in an envelope to mail to the recipient if needed.

Stamps: Coffee Break; Perfect Blend - Honey Bee Stamps
Paper: White; Brown; Summer Crush DP - Maja Designs
Dies: Baby Step Block Card - Spellbinders; Perfect Blend - Honey Bee Stamps
Nuvo Drops: Carnation Pink; Rhubarb Crumble; Dandelion Yellow; Apple Green; Crushed Grape

Elephant Shaker Card

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Kelly McKown-Santi
our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

This week Kelly has given us a Tic Tac Toe Challenge ... using the Tic Tac Toe board below select three items in a row either vertically, horizontally or diagonally.

For my card today I decided to select the left hand vertical column which was 'Add a Sentiment'; 'Shaker Card' and 'Sequins'.

For the frame for the shaker card I used Mama Elephant's Framed Tags Hug It Out die set. I die cut the large frame and then inked the frame and the inner rectangle using Wilted Violet Distress Oxides blending from the top and going lighter as I got closer to the bottom.

To decorate the card I used the Mama Elephant's Fly with Me Clear stamp set.

The sentiment is from Elizabeth Craft Designs Sentiments 1 - Celebration Clear Stamp set with coordinating dies.

Here is another look at my shaker card after I had shaken the card and placed it on my desk. As you can see my shaker card is filled with various purple and pink colored sequins another item on the Tic Tac Toe board.

For the inside of my card I die cut another frame again and used the inner panel. I sponged on the color and then added the elephant image and another sentiment.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Love Is All You Need

Hi Crafty Friends,

Happy Valentine's Day to you all! Seeing it was Valentine's Day I thought I would share a Valentine Card I created recently.

My card uses the new ModaScrap Love, Life Tag die set which was recently released by Elizabeth Craft Designs. This die set contains two rounded tags in different lengths and two inlay dies to use with the tags.

For my card today I used the smaller of the tags and used the tree/hearts inlay die to decorate it. I cut two more of the tree/heart pieces from brown and pink cardstock and used these to inlay all the pieces into the tag.

I used the new ModaScrap Dashing Rectangles to die cut my patterned paper.

I used a sentiment from the Love Sentiments Clear Stamp set.

For the inside of my card I die cut another rectangle panel using the Dashing Rectangles die set. I then used the heart inlay die from the Love, Life Tag die set to die cut the hearts to the lower left hand corner of the card. I then inlaid pink hearts into the card.

For the sentiment, I die cut the "Valentine's" sentiment from pink cardstock and adhered to to the upper part of the rectangle panel and then took the "happy" and "day" from the "Happy Valentine's Day" sentiment from the Love Sentiments Clear Stamp set.

No One Is Too Old For Fairy Tales

Hi Crafty Friends,

Welcome to our February Paper Pros challenge. This month our challenge is again hosted by Karen Aicken who gave us the theme of .... Love

For my card today I wanted to play with my new Concord & 9th Heart Turnabout stamp, which I used to stamp onto the light pink cardstock in various shades of pink ink. I created three heart background panels so I could use them on the front and inside of my card.

To decorate the front of my card I used Karen Burniston's Castle Pop-up Card die set to add the castle to my card, the great thing about this die set is that it can be used to create a pop-up card or flat on a card as I have done here.

I added the smaller Stamping Bella Fairy Tale Squidgies image in front of the castle, this stamp set comes with a small and large version of the same image.

For the inside of my card I used added the other two heart background panels I created and continued the castle theme along the bottom of the card on both sides.

I used Karen Burniston's Spinner Square Pop-up Card die set to create the square panel in the centre of the card that has the spinner on the side.

This time around I added the larger of the 'squidgie' images to the square panel and then used Word Set 5 - Royalty to add the "My" and "Princess" to the square panel.

For the spinner part of the card I used a sentiment that came with the stamp set.

You can see what the other "Paper Pros" created for this challenge on their blogs:

Keep On Rockin'

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I have a Pop-up Box card to share with you today, using the Lawn Fawn Scallop Box Card Pop-up die. To decorate my card I used images from Mama Elephant's Rock and Paw Clear Stamp set.

Here is a side on view of my card so you can see the right hand side of the box.

I just love these cute little musicans ... aren't they just adorable.

I also added a die cut music border towards the back of the box card.

On the back of the card I added a sentiment and music notes from a stamp set from The Stamps of Life.

Here is a view of my card when it is folded flat so it can be popped in an envelope.

Happy Birthday To You

Hi Crafty Friends,

Over the past few months I seem to have been drawn to some floral images, this one from Gina K Designs I purchased from there Thanksgiving sale and have finally gotten to use it.

I stamped the image onto white cardstock adding the sentiment in the centre of the design. I then die cut the image using Simon Says Stamp Wonky Rectangles. I colored the flowers using a piece of designer paper I was going to use on the card, but in the end I changed my mind and went with something completely different.

I added a Black Ebony Gloss Nuvo Crystal Drop on either side of the "To You" part of the sentiment.

For the inside of my card I added one of the flower halves to the lower section of my card and then stamped a couple of sentiments from the Reverse Confetti/Stamptember Celebrate Your Day clear stamp set.

Paper: White; Prim & Proper 6 x 6 Paper Pad - Rosie's Studio

Love You More Than Coffee

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Karen Aicken our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Make your project reflect love or appreciation. Make a Valentine, Anniversary, Thinking of You or card showing support.

My daughter came home recently with a Starbucks "Valentine's" Gift Card, she knew I was after some pretty coffee gift cards to use with my new Karen Burniston Coffee Cup Pop Up Card die. Seeing that Valentine's Day is only a few weeks away I figured I better make a card so I could use it :). As the gift card was flowery and bright, I wanted to replicate that in my card.

I created the coffee mug using colors found in the designer paper used on the base. The striped paper also included colors in the designer paper so I added that to the card as well for some extra interest. I added a sentiment which is from Riley and Company.

Seeing it was a Valentine themed card I added a few hearts to the coffee mug; napkin and sentiment. The hearts are from the heart border included in the Cake Trims die set.

Here is an overhead photo of my card, so you can see the whole card at once.

For the front of the card I added another coffee mug and used a few of the sentiments included in the Honey Bee Stamps Perfect Blend stamp set.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.
